Music Education Software
By Kevin | April 30, 2008
If you’re really considering software for music education, then you really can’t look past Sibelius.
I’ve been going through the process of learning sibelius for the last few weeks – and most of this blog was going to be about the tips and tricks of the process. The only thing is that I really don’t need to let you know too much – as Sibelius works so well!
What I’d like to draw your attention to today is the excellent educational pricing that is available for Sibelius for schools.
You can get a Five Seat Lab pack from Musicians Friend (one of the biggest online retailers) for under $1000 – including Photoscore Ultimate which will allow you to scan in entire concert band or orchestral arrangements.
No more losing a part in Band!
I spent nearly $600 on my professional version of Sibelius, because I’m not a teacher or working in an educational institution any more, but if I was I would have made this a priority in my music program.
Our Students need to be working with the best music education software, otherwise how else are they going to compete in the fast paced world of tommorow?
In other posts on this blog I’ve also talked about Sibelius’s Excellent Worksheet creator in Sibelius 5, which saves hours and hours of time for teachers, as you can create just about any worksheet you need in seconds!

Hi Kevin, your readers may also want to consider this software for music teachers. I certainly recommend this specially to those who are having troubles in managing their private music studios.
Thanks for sharing your resources and tips in music teaching!
